Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan Team Up To Recreate Nostalgia In “Bhooth Bangla”!

The iconic duo of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have reunited in the horror-comedy genre decades after their 2007 commercial hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This much-anticipated horror-comedy, titled “Bhooth Bangla“, translated as “Haunted Mansion”, revives a classic blend of fear and humor, with the essence of 1990s and early 2000s-era Bollywood nostalgia. It features a strong ensemble cast of veteran Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Govardhan Asrani, Jisshu Sengupta, and Rajpal Yadav, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Tabu.

The film’s story has been authored by Aakash Kaushik. It has been co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Ekta Kapoor, and directed by Priyadarshan.

Bhooth Bangla (2026) Synopsis: A Curse Awakens

Arjun Acharya (Akshay Kumar) and his sister, Meera (Mithila Palkar), live with their father, Dr. Vasudev Acharya (Jisshu Sengupta), in London. They are looking for Meera’s wedding destination when the news of Arjun inheriting their grandfather’s old mansion in their remote village arrives.

Arjun and Meera choose their newly inherited mansion as the wedding destination, unaware that an evil urban legend awaits them. That curse upon the village is associated with the resurrection of “Vadhusur”, a lusty demon who is infamous for abducting and killing new brides on their wedding day.
